South Korea already has sight of the Olympics in Beijing. They crushed Spain 14-5 and go into the off day with four victories out of four games.
The Asian powerhouse scored at least once in seven of the nine frames. A five-run spot in the fourth was the highlight. The Spanish squad had some hope during the middle of the game, when they rallied for five runs and cut the deficit to 4-8 and 5-10. But South Korea scored some insurance runs to seal the expected win.
Young Min KIM had three hits, scored twice and drove in four. Joo Chan KIM was 4-for-4 with three runs scored. Seung Yuop LEE hit a two-run-homerun.
Pedro MENDEZ had three hits for Spain. Ricardo RODRIGUEZ scored two runs. Dewis NAVARRO had two hits and two RBI.
Sun Woo KIM gave up seven hits, four runs and a base on balls in five innings for the win.
Manuel OLIVERA, who already had his second start, took the loss. He allowed seven hits, three runs and a walk in three-plus innings.
