Press release European Softball Federation
Softball Europe had to review the 2021 – 2023 events calendar because of the postponed and canceled tournaments of 2020.
As many of our 2020 European events have been postponed, in 2021, Softball Europe will have a full calendar. The board has reviewed and finalized the exact dates of those postponed events and decided to release the 2021 – 2023 calendar.
The first European Championship of 2021 will be the Coed Slowpitch, played in Colorno, Italy, June 15-19. Right after, Men’s European Championship will be played June 21 – 26, and Women’s European Championship is scheduled for July 4 – 10.
July 2021 will be the time for the postponed U16 and U18 Men’s European Championship in Havlíčkův Brod, Czech Republic. Softball Europe board also added one new event: the U23 Men’s Qualifier, adjacent to the U18 and U16 MECh. These three events will be played on July 12-17.
Due to conflict with the date of WECh, the U18 Women’s European Championship had to be moved to July 19 – 24, 2021, and the U22 Women’s European Championship to 2022.
As always, August will be the month dedicated to the clubs participating in the European Cups:
- Coed Slowpitch European Super Cup, August 2-7;
- Women’s European Premiere Cup, Women’s European Cup, and Women’s European Cup Winners Cup, August 16-21;
- Men’s European Super Cup, August 23-28.
For the kids, the city of Collecchio, Italy, will host the ninth European M. Romeo Youth Trophy in August 11-14.
Softball Europe added another new event in 2021. Based on a survey of the National Federations, the U12 Mix Qualifier will be played at the beginning of the season, around April or May. This tournament will be the qualifier for the U12 Mix World Cup in August.
Softball Europe season will be closed by the third European Softball MASTERS, planned for October 27-30.
All the tournaments will be played if the health situation allows it and under the personal responsibility of each participant.
