The Confederation of European Baseball (CEB) announced the sites for the 2014 European Cups and European Cup Qualifiers. The two six-team European Cups will be played from June 17 to 22, 2014 in Brno, Czech Republic and Hoofddorp, Netherlands.
Especially the Hoofddorp venue does have high expectations before its first big tournament of its existence. The new baseball and softball complex near Amsterdam will be inaugurated at the beginning of the 2014 season.
The winners of the two European Cups will play a best-of-three European Champions Cup final series to determine the European Champions Cup winner. This year Fortitudo Bologna won the title and then represented European Baseball for the first time at the Asia Series.
The European Cup Qualifiers will be played in from June 16 to 21, 2014 in Antwerp/Brasschaat (Belgium), Athens/Hellenikon (Greece), Zubrs/Brest Zubrs (Belarus) and Stockholm/BK Stockholm (Sweden). Teams have until December 31, 2013 to subscribe to the tournaments.
