The Cincinnati Reds have signed Dutch catcher Shawn Zarraga to a minor league contract for the 2017 season in Major League Baseball. Zarraga played for the Los Angeles Dodgers organization this year, splitting time between Double-A and Triple-A. When the Dodgers traded for Carlos Ruiz from the Philadelphia Phillies he briefly was called up to the big leagues to fill a backup catcher spot on the roster.
