Sharon Robinson, daughter of Hall of Famer Jackie Robinson, will be making a special trip to Romania to promote her father’s legacy of diversity, tolerance and inclusion through sports. Sharon will make a special appearance at the 4th of July U.S Embassy Reception, where the U.S Embassy in Romania will celebrate the 70th anniversary of Jackie Robinson breaking the color barrier. During the trip, Sharon will meet with local youth, including baseball teams from underserved communities and students enrolled in The Future Leaders Exchange (FLEX) – a program that provides merit-based scholarships for students to travel to the United States, live with a host family, and attend a U.S. high school for a full academic year. Other activities include attending a book signing of The Hero Two Doors Down, a movie screening of 42, the Jackie Robinson biopic, a Q&A session, and youth baseball games.
