A Scout’s Take on the new European Minor Leaguers

Posted on July 28, 2009 by philipp

Four European players joined Major League organizations during the international signing period since the beginning of July. We asked a European scout and he gave us his take on three of the four:

OF Max Kepler-Rozycki (GER, Regensburg, Minnesota Twins): He is a potential 5 tool guy. He is still you, so he’ll have a long way to reach the Major League, even though the investment has been very, very big.

IF Luca Martone (ITA, Nettuno, Houston Astros): He is still 16 and a slick infielder that can match the Latin guys. Body wise he is still undeveloped, so he has a lot of work in front of him.

LHP Jan Rehacek (CZE, Hoofddorp Pioniers, Minnesota Twins): He is over 20 years old, so he probably will have to prove right away that he can pitch at Class A level.
