In preparations for the 2011 season, with the highlight being the European Championship Qualifier in Barcelona at the end of July, the Swiss Baseball and Softball Federation (SBSF) with head coach Andy Fleischacker and general manager Thomas Landis selected a 33-man preliminary roster. The rest of the coaching staff will be finalized in the coming weeks. The Swiss National Team is also going to play in the international baseball tournament “Finkstonball” in Attnang-Puchheim, Austria from June 11 to 13. In Barcelona Switzerland is going to face host Spain, Hungary, Finland and Ireland, trying to win a spot in the 2012 European Championship, which will be held in the Netherlands.
