The Italian Baseball League club T&A San Marino, vice champion in the 2009 campaign, has signed relievers Mattia Salsi and Ilo Bartolucci according to a report on Baseball.it.
Salsi is a 32-year-old left-hander who spent most of his career with Parma, interrupted by stops in Modena and Reggio Emilia. He made his IBL debut in 1997 and looks back at an ERA of 4.60 in 237 games. He collected 453 strikeouts in 719 2/3 innings, walking 295. In 2009 he had an ERA of 4.20 during the regular season, striking out eight batters in 15 innings (four walks).
The 38-year-old right-hander Bartolucci is supposed to take over as closer in game three. He made his IBL debut in 1991 for Bologna and later also played for Milan, Macerata, Rimini, Caserta and Ragalna. In 2002 he returned to Rimini, where took the mound since. In his career he has an ERA of 4.67 in 372 appearances. Last year he allowed 13 hits, eight runs (4 ER) and two walks in eight innings, striking out four.
