SAN MARINO defeated MONTEPASCHI 4-3 on Saturday afternoon. They blew a 3-0 lead in the eighth period, but won on a sac fly by David Sheldon in the bottom of the frame. David Dallospedale, Jairo Ramos and Antony Caracciolo had the RBIs for GROSSETO.
Tiago Silva (SMA) allowed just one hit and a walk in seven innings, while striking out three. Chris Cooper (GRO) gave up seven hits, three runs (2 ER) and a base on balls in six innings. Peter Nyari received the win, Yovany D’Amico the loss.

GROSSETO won a slugfest in the evening to avoid the shutout in SAN MARINO. They used two big innings to crush the home team 19-8. They scored nine runs in the third and seven in the seventh period. Andrea Sgnaolin hit a three-run homerun over the fence in left field and drove in a total of five. Raul Marval was two-for-four with five RBI. Jorge Nunez had four hits, four runs and three RBI in six at bats.
Max De Biase doubled three times and drove in three for T&A.
Luca Panerati picked up the win, despite giving up eleven hits, eight runs and two walks in six innings. Matteo Tonellato was charged with six hits, seven runs and two bb in 2 2/3 innings for the loss.
Danesi Nettuno –Telemarket Rimini 7-6

Leonardo Mazzanti saved DANESI with his walk off RBI single in the bottom of the ninth in the 7-6 victory against RIMINI. TELEMARKET had overcome a 2-6 deficit in the top of the eighth and tied the game on Mario Chiarini’s three-run shot. He had five RBIs overall.
Igor Schiavetti and Juan Camilo each drove in two runs. Giuseppe Mazzanti scored twice for NETTUNO.
Giovanni Carrara (NET) gave up six hits, two runs and five bb in five innings. Buddy Bengel (RIM) allowed three hits, two unearned runs and a walk in 3 2/3 innings. Carlos Pezzullo got the win, Ilo Bartolucci the loss.
Danesi Nettuno – Telemarket Rimini 5-6 (12)

RIMINI prevailed on Saturday afternoon in another thriller. They blew a 4-0 lead in regulation, but came through with the go-ahead run in the twelve frame to celebrate a 6-5 win. Clinton Balgera was the match winner, hitting a 1-1 pitch over the fence in right field for the decisive lead. NETTUNO had tied the game in the bottom of the seventh on Juan Camilo’s two-run homerun to force extra innings.
Sandy Patrone (RIM) allowed five hits, two runs and three walks in five innings. Carlos Richetti (NET) gave up nine hits and five runs (3 ER) in eight innings, while striking out eight. Ilo Bartolucci pitched for a second time on the day and picked up the win, after 5 2/3 innings of relief. Mauro Salciccia took the loss.
Rangers Redipuglia – Cariparma 3-5

CARIPARMA used a four-run fourth to overcome a 0-2 deficit and finished off the sweep against the RANGERS with a 5-3 victory. Adolfo Gomez hit a two-run homerun. Claudio Biagini was two-for-four with three RBI. Gianluca Tonzar had three hits for REDIPUGLIA.
Roberto Corradini struck out eight in 7 2/3 solid innings. He gave up seven hits, three runs and four bb. Andrea Cossar took the loss after eight innings, six hits, four runs and two walks.
De Angelis Godo – Fortitudo Bologna 4-14

FORTITUDO completed the sweep in GODO with a blowout win. They scored 14 runs on 15 hits en route to a 14-4 victory. Richard Austin hit a grand slam and finished with six RBI. Juan Angrisano was three-for-five with a homer and three RBI. Mike Lockwood and Francesco Fuzzi homered for DE ANGELIS.
Fabio Betto (W) allowed four hits, two runs (1 ER) and two walks in five innings. Matteo Galeotti (L) gave up five hits, three runs and three bb in four innings.
