The German Baseball-Bundesliga club SAARLOUIS HORNETS announced on their website that they have recruited starting pitcher/outfielder Kenny Camp for the 2009 season. He comes from the Georgia State University and was recommended by German National Team head coach Greg Frady, who also is coaching Georgia State.
Camp played for the Panthers since 2004, batting .216 (OBP .260/SLG .342) in 49 games through the first four years (didn’t play in 2006) of his college career. In 2008 he was mainly used as a pitcher and had a 3-1 record with an ERA of 5.25 in 13 games (nine starts). He struck out 43 (22 walks) in 49 2/3 innings. He also played summer league last year with the Cobb Astros and will arrive in Germany on March 13.
