Rumor: Chris Mezger, Harry Glynn join Solingen, Tanner Leighton stays

Posted on November 12, 2013 by philipp

The Hot Stove in European Baseball is slowly heating up. Mister-Baseball.com has learned that pitchers Chris Mezger and Harry Glynne apparently will join the Solingen Alligators. Infielder Tanner Leighton stays probably. Shortstop Travis Bass and starting pitcher Nick Renault won’t be back. Previously it was already know that Dominik Wulf and Moritz Buttgereit are stop playing for the Alligators.

The 24-year-old tall right-hander Mezger came from the University of Southern California to Europe to play for the Rouen Huskies for the 2012 season. Last winter he transferred to the Netherlands, suiting up for UVV in the Dutch Hoofdklasse. He had a 3-5 record with an ERA of 2.36 in nine games (seven starts).

The 23-year-old right-hander Glynne is a member of the German national team. After graduating he joined the Buchbinder Legionaere Regensburg in 2012 and moved on to the Untouchables Paderborn this year. He is currently playing Baseball in South Africa.

The 24-year-old Leighton is a versatile player, who joined the Alligators last offseason. He batted .456/.543/.718 with 20 extra base hits, 32 runs and 33 RBI in 28 games in his first year in the German Baseball-Bundesliga.
