The top baseball and softball leagues in Italy continue to face troubles this winter. After the Godo Knights dropped out of the Italian Baseball League (replaced by Novara) and the fusion of Nettuno and Nettuno 2 led to the reduction of the IBL from eight to seven teams, the Italian Softball League also sees a withdrawal. Rovigo has decided to move out of the ISL. The format has been altered to two groups of seven clubs apiece. The Coppa Italia will be played during the Women’s World Championship in Surrey with the 14 teams split into four groups of three and four teams to determine the participants of the Final Four.
