ROUEN swept a doubleheader against the TEMPLIERS on Sunday to finish in first place in the Elite League Playoffs. This was important, as they now have home field advantage in the upcoming French Finals against the same foe. The best-of-five series starts next weekend in Senart.

In game one the HUSKIES used a five-run fourth to decide the outcome in a lopsided 16-6 victory. They scored in seven of the eight frames on 20 hits. Luc Piquet highlighted the rally in the fourth with a two-run triple. Julien Brelle hit a solo homerun for SENART. Keino Perez allowed twelve hits, six runs (4 ER) and two walks in seven innings to pick up the win. He struck out just one batter. Samuel Meurant took the loss, after getting charged with 15 hits, eleven runs and a base on balls in six innings.

The result of the second match indicates a more thrilling game, but ROUEN had a comfortable lead for most of the nine innings. A sac fly by Boris Marche and doubles by Romain David and Randy Perez put four runs on the board in the first frame en route to a 6-4 win. Sebastien Herve answered with a RBI double for the TEMPLIERS in the top of the second. But an error led to the fifth HUSKIES run through Joris Bert in the bottom of the same period. But SENART tried to come back. Sylvain Hervieux cut the deficit to two runs with a two-run homerun in the fifth. A hit by pitch against Herve in the eighth with the bases loaded brought in the fourth TEMPLIERS run. But it was not enough. Marche drove in an insurance run in the bottom of the period with a double. Nicolas Dubaut pitched five innings for the win. Evan Blesoff was on the mound for seven-plus innings to take the loss.

  2. Senart 30-10

The doubleheader between MONTPELLIER and SAVIGNY was forfeited by the BARRACUDAS.
