Posted on February 13, 2012February 13, 2012 by philipp

The Rouen Huskies added two more players for the 2012 season this weekend. On Sunday the reigning French champion announced the signings of Chris Mezger and Ethan Paquette. Both are coming from the United States. Rouen already had added the Australian infielder Mathew Smith, catcher Dylan Gleeson, outfielder Bastian Dagneau and third baseman Luis Aponte. Additionally Keino Perez succeeds Robin Roy as manager of the Huskies.

The 22-year-old Mezger is a 2.09m tall right-handed pitcher from Roswell. He attended the University of Southern California (NCAA Division I) and reportedly features a fastball reaching 87 MPH and more. He is expected to arrive in Rouen on March 16. The 23-year-old Paquette is a first baseman, who is from the elusive town of Cooperstown, New York. He went to Hofstra and got drafted by the Seattle Mariners in 2010. He spent two seasons in their farm system, batting .237/.333/.644 in 92 games.
