Posted on March 1, 2011March 1, 2011 by philipp

The steering committee of the French Baseball and Softball Federation selected Rouen and Andelys to host the 2011 edition of the Challenge de France. The four-day tournament for the eight French Elite League teams will be played from July 14 to 17 with the winner receiving a ticket for the 2012 European Cup. Toulouse and BoƩ Bon Encontre also were in consideration.

The Challenge de France, which is played since 2002, is going to honor Japanese baseball legend Yoshio Yoshida, who will be on hand in Rouen during the tournament. The Rouen Huskies won the cup three times, the Savigny Lions twice and the Templiers Senart and Montpellier Barracudas each once. There was no Challenge de France last summer.
