Ronchi dei Legionari not playing in IBL, new organization in Grosseto

Posted on November 25, 2013 by philipp

Two developments in regards of next year’s setup of the Italian Baseball League. Ronchi dei Legionari already has informed the Italian Baseball and Softball Federation (FIBS) a couple of weeks ago that they won’t play in the IBL in 2014. They instead applied to play in the Serie A of the Federal Championship. They want to rebuild on a lower level to make another run in the IBL in the future.

Meanwhile Baseball in Grosseto is back on the rise. After Mastiff filled the hole by playing their home games in the Tuscan city last season, a new organization is in the works. Mastiff, Jolly Roger of Castiglione della Pescaia, Junior Grosseto, BSC 1952 and Maremma are working on the IBL Grosseto project. Massimo Ceciarini of BSC 1952 will serve as president.
