The Royal Dutch Baseball and Softball Association (KNBSB) announced on Tuesday that Ron Schel will be the new chairman, succeeding Bob Bergkamp who stepped back last year. The 61-year-old Schel is from Naarden and founder and managing partner of a consulting firm for strategy, policy and organizational development. From 2003 to 2007 he acted as president of the baseball and softball club HCAW in Bussum.
In cooperation with an agency the application process involved 14 candidates; three of them were invited to interviews with the management. In the end the federal council and the general assembly determined that Schel would be the best candidate and elected him unanimously.
