Press Release by Major League Baseball:

The Office of the Commissioner of Baseball announced today that free agent Minor League catcher Rodney Daal has received a 100-game suspension without pay following a third positive test for a drug of abuse in violation of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program. The suspension of Daal is effective immediately upon his signing with another Major League organization.

He managed to play in a couple of games at the end of the season, even hitting two home runs in the Arizona Summer League and then took part in the instructional leagues.

Signed in 2010 by the Padres he has been batting .270/.339/.415 through 158 games. His best season was in 2013, when he hit .271/.317/.424 with eight home runs, two triples, 13 doubles, 30 runs and 39 RBI in the Midwest League.
