In the Italian Baseball League there are for now a couple of things we must take for granted: Fortitudo Bologna will play in the postseason and Rangers Redipuglia will be relegated to the Serie A2. As for the rest, we must wait.
During the weekend there are two matchups that look pretty interesting. T&A San Marino hosts Telemarket Rimini on Thursday night (and live on Rai Sport PiĆ¹ starting 9.30 PM CET) for game one of a series that will continue Friday and Saturday in Rimini. Telemarket cannot afford losing after they gave up two out of three in Nettuno. Rimini is playing decent baseball, but their bull pen seems incapable of closing out games. And in a season in which values are pretty balanced, it can be a serious problem. San Marino their selves cannot give up games. They are in the middle of a race that, because T&A’s wins last week, involves also Montepaschi Grosseto. San Marino looks pretty in shape in the first two games, but when it comes down to the pitchers of the Italian school of baseball (or ASI) they begin struggling. It’s more or less what happens to Grosseto.
Cariparma, another serious contender, is playing good baseball with Corradini pitching on Saturday nights. And this week end the parmesans will face Danesi Nettuno. A series that may be a key to read what can happen in the last 3 weekends of the regular season. In any case, it will be a hot month of July on the fields of the IBL
