Posted on March 18, 2015March 18, 2015 by philipp

The 26-year-old infielder Rien Vernooij returns to Curacao Neptunus Rotterdam. After two years hiatus he will be back in the Dutch Hoofdklasse. In his last year he batted .311 with four home runs, but lost in the Holland Series against Corendon Kinheim. The former Minor Leaguer with the New York Mets then decided briefly to stop playing baseball. He also played for Sparta/Feyenoord Rotterdam in the Hoofdklasse. In professional baseball he played three seasons between 2008 and 2010, all in Rookie ball.
