The Dohren Wild Farmers revealed on Monday that right-handed pitcher Garrett Rogers returns for the 2013 season. The 23-year-old played for the club during the 2011 season and was named MVP of the northern division of the German Baseball-Bundesliga.
He went 7-6 with an ERA of 3.31 in 13 starts as starting pitcher, while batting .281/.354/.474 with five home runs and seven doubles in 27 games at the plate. Dohren used Mat Keplinger as foreign starting pitcher last season.
The Wild Farmers lost a playdowns series against the Berlin Sluggers to finish in eighth place in 2012. However due to a lack of willing second-division teams to go up, they remained in Germany’s top division.
