Eddie_Aucoin_PIO35-year-old right-handed pitcher Eddie Aucoin, who recently released his book “Live the Dream – Get paid to play Baseball”, will stay with the Hoofddorp Pioniers. He re-signed with the Dutch Hoofdklasse club for the 2011 season. It is going to be his second year in the Netherlands after previous playing in Sweden (Oskarshamn BSK) and Germany (Gauting Indians, Mannheim Tornados, Buchbinder Legionaere Regensburg).

In 2010 he had 7-5 record with an ERA of 1.72 in 14 starts. He struck out 67 batters in 94 innings, while walking 19. Opponents batted .199 against him. In the semi-finals he threw nine two-hit innings against DOOR Neptunus, but the Pioniers still lost 0-1 in eleven innings. Besides playing in European Baseball, Aucoin also had stints in the Toronto Blue Jays organization, Independent League Baseball, the Colombian Winter League and professional fastpitch softball.
