Italian right-handed pitcher Davide Anselmi is going to sign a minor league contract with the Cincinnati Reds organization these days according to a report by GrandeSlam.net. Born in 1995 he is currently a member of Unipol Bologna of the Italian Baseball League respective its IBL2 team in Rovigo. In 2012 he pitched at the XXV IBAF 18U Baseball World Championship for Italy in Seoul, Korea. He was used in relief, going 0-1 with an ERA of 2.70 in two appearances against the strong teams from Canada and Australia. He allowed three runs (2 ER) on eight hits and two walks, while striking out eight. He has been a regular member of Italian youth teams in the past years and was invited to the MLB European Academy in Tirrenia in 2011 and 2012.
