Former Minor Leaguer Daniel Thieben is joining the Untouchables Paderborn after his departure from the Buchbinder Legionaere Regensburg. The Seattle Mariners had released the 21-year-old right-handed pitcher following the 2014 season. The release was first announced by the Buchbinder Legionaere, which already had revealed that he leaves also his German club.
Thieben had signed with the Mariners in November of 2011 out of the Baseball Academy in Regensburg. He had started his baseball career with the Dohren Wild Farmers. He starts his Untouchables career on February 1. Besides playing in the German Baseball-Bundesliga the main goal for him is finishing school. The U’s helped him find a good school in Paderborn.
