RHP Alexis Fumero returns to CD Pamplona for 2011 Season

The 25-year-old Venezuelan right-hander Alexis Fumero is returning to CD Pamplona for the 2011 season. He last played in the Spanish Division de Honor in 2009, when he had a 4-9 record with an ERA of 4.70 in 17 appearances (twelve starts) for CD. He struck out 83 in 97 2/3 innings, walking 56. He also batted .361/.421/.526 with ten extra base hits, 15 runs and 17 RBI in 35 games at the plate. He didn’t play in Spain last year. Back in 2006 he had seven appearances for the Dominican Summer League affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks organization.
