The Spanish pitcher Alberto Magallon is leaving CB VILADECANS to join SAN INAZIO BILBAO. The right-hander raised some interest from other Division de Honor teams too, but decided to go to the Basque club. In 2008 he had a 5-5 record and an ERA of 2.23 in 16 games (ten starts). He had 60 strikeouts in a team-leading 96 2/3 innings, while walking 21. SAN INAZIO’s pitching staff combined for an ERA of 3.89 last season, which ranked seventh in the league. Together with Pedro Belmonte (4-6, ERA 3.89, 85.2 IP, 46 SO, 13 BB), Magallon will form a strong 1-2 punch in the second game of each series.
