Results Spanish Division de Honor Baseball April 12&13, 2014

In the Spanish Division de Honor Baseball, which will be off on Easter weekend, the fifth game day is in the books. The Tenerife Marlins remain on top with a perfect 8-0 record. On Saturday they defeated CD Pamplona 10-0 and 7-4. Jose Cruz pitched an eight-inning shutout in game one, while Richard Montiel had four hits in game two.

In Catalonia the derby between CB Viladecans and CBS Sant Boi saw two thrilling games. Both were won by Sant Boi, which is in second place in the standings. Zael Honora struck out 16 batters in nine innings to lead CBS to a 5-2 win in game one. All five runs were scored in the third. In game two Sant Boi edged out a 5-4 victory. Yoridan and Daniel Martinez combined for seven hits and four of the five runs out of the top two spots in the batting order.

CB Barcelona, which had won just three of the first eight games of the new season, celebrated its first sweep of the year. They crushed El Llano 17-0 and 16-0. Larry Jose Suarez struck out seven in six no-hit frames in game one. Abel Jimenez and Jose Luis Riera had five RBI apiece. In game two Marc Juaneda pitched seven strong two-hit innings. Tomas Alberto Ramon had four hits to spark the offense.

In the fourth matchup this week, San Inazio Bilbao and Baseball Navarra split two games. Navarra prevailed 8-2 in game one. Hector Perozo went 3-for-4 with a home run and four RBI. Isaac Omar Vargas walked nine in eight innings, but still managed to win the game. In game two Bilbao scored six runs in the bottom of the sixth to win 9-4. Juan Jose Lopez pitched six-plus innings for the win.
