The Italian Winter League, an indoor league for youth players, continued its schedule last Sunday with stops in Bolzano, Viterbo and Bologna. In the Emilia Romagna Tournament the fourth round in the preliminary phase took place. The ATHLETICS BOLOGNA lost their top position in group A to SALA BAGANZA, which won twice to improve their record to 4-0. Both teams reached the semi-finals. Their opponents will be determined on February 22nd.
In the Veneto portion of the Italian Winter League, the teams stopped in the Dolomite city Bolzano last weekend. SENAGO BASEBALL won all four games to clinch first place in their group and to qualify for the Veneto final on March 1st. Three teams from the other pool can follow them during the next two weekends.
In the Tuscany Tournament NUOVA ROMA was three-for-three in victories on Sunday to move into first place in the Cubs pool, one of three. They can clinch first place at the next stops on February 22. The other two pools remain wide open.
