Posted on June 22, 2008 by philipp

The Dutch teams succeeded in the European Cup tournaments in Grosseto and Regensburg. CORENDON KINHEIM clinched the title in Italy with a ten inning affair against MONTEPASCHI GROSSETO. DOOR NEPTUNUS missed the final, after losing to DANESI NETTUNO on Saturday, but finished in third, defeating the BUCHBINDER LEGIONAERE on Sunday. The loss against the Italian vice champion was their only defeat in the tournament.

In the Hoofdklasse back in the Netherlands, the KONICA MINOLTA PIONIERS missed the opportunity to close the gap to KINHEIM and NEPTUNUS in the standings. They crushed HCAW 11-1 on Saturday, but got upset 5-3 on Sunday. With the split they are staying two games behind the leaders. SPARTA/FEYENOORD and L&D AMSTERDAM PIRATES swept their series this weekend.
