In the German Baseball-Bundesliga the race for the remaining two playoff spots in the south got tighten up this past weekend. The Haar Disciples and the Mannheim Tornados, which will meet on the last game day of the regular season, celebrated two-win weekends over the Stuttgart Reds and Tubingen Hawks. They moved past the Mainz Athletics into a tie for fourth place in the standings. The A’s split against the Buchbinder Legionaere Regensburg. The Heidenheim Heidekoepfe, which had Johannes Krumm and Robert Gruber combining for a no-hitter, swept the Bad Homburg Hornets to capture the title in the south. In the north the Solingen Alligators suffered two surprise 4-5 losses to the HSV Stealers, while the Bonn Capitals and the Untouchables Paderborn each won twice.
