Results German Baseball-Bundesliga June 11 to 14

Posted on June 14, 2009June 14, 2009 by philipp

The playoff picture in the Baseball-Bundesliga got clearer this weekend. In the north the HSV STEALERS swept their doubleheader against the COLOGNE CARDINALS to clinch the fourth seed behind SOLINGEN, PADERBORN and DORTMUND. At the top things get interesting, as the UNTOUCHABLES defeated leader ALLIGATORS 5-3 and 12-3 to reduce the deficit to 1.5 games. They now also lead the season series 3-1.

In the south the ATHLETICS made a big step towards postseason Baseball by defeating SAARLOUIS 8-7 in ten innings and 6-2. MAINZ is back in fourth, while the HORNETS completed the regular season and are going to play in the playdowns. HAAR and GAUTING are still in the mix, but their chances are pretty slim. The INDIANS had a big opportunity in their twin bill with the BUCHBINDER LEGIONAERE to pull off the upset. But they blew leads in both games and helped REGENSBURG to clinch the first seed in the south.
