On the game day before the break due to the European Championship in Stuttgart, Heidenheim and Neuenburg, the German Baseball-Bundesliga resumed play in the regular season. In the north the Paderborn Untouchables won 15-5 and 6-1 against the Bonn Capitals to secure the number-two seed. First-ranked Solingen Alligators split a doubleheader against the Dohren Wild Farmers, which continue to stay in the hunt for the fourth playoff spot. The other three contenders the Dortmund Wanderers, the HSV Stealers and the Pulheim Gophers also picked up victories.
In the south the Mannheim Tornados defeated the Haar Disciples in both ends of twin bill on Sunday and solidified third place in the standings. One day earlier the Heidenheim Heidekoepfe had to settle for a split against the Mainz Athletics, but still sealed the second seed behind the Buchbinder Legionaere Regensburg. The Gauting Indians missed out on the opportunity to take advantage of the two losses by Haar, but stay in the race with a split against the Saarlouis Hornets.
