In week two in the German Baseball-Bundesliga the Pulheim Gophers improved to 4-0 for the season thanks to a sweep against the Berlin Sluggers. They lead the standings in the northern division together with the Untouchables Paderborn, which won games two and three of the year versus the Dohren Wild Farmers. On Sunday the Solingen Alligators had to settle for the split against the Bonn Capitals. Additionally the Dortmund Wanderers and the HSV Stealers shared wins in Hamburg.
In the south a total of more than 2,100 people wanted to see the two games between the Buchbinder Legionaere and the Mannheim Tornados at the Armin-Wolf-Arena this weekend. 600 were in the stand, when Rene Franke led the Tornados to a 9-4 victory on Friday night. On Saturday afternoon Evan LeBlanc went 5-for-5 to lead the Buchbinder Legionaere to a 12-4 win in front of 1,500. Meanwhile the Bad Homburg Hornets got its first win at the Bundesliga stage with a split against the Mainz Athletics. On Sunday the Haar Disciples concluded the game day with two lopsided wins over the Gauting Indians.
