Results German Baseball-Bundesliga April 30 to May 2

Posted on May 2, 2010 by philipp

There is just one remaining team in the German Baseball-Bundesliga without a loss, as the calendar turned to May. In the northern division the Bonn Capitals had to settle for a split on Saturday against the HSV Stealers. One day later the Solingen Alligators suffered their first loss during the highly anticipated doubleheader against the Paderborn Untouchables. In game one Dominik Wulf drove in the game-winner for Solingen with a walk-off single in the bottom of the tenth after Florian Goetze had tied the contest with a solo homerun in the seventh. The second match turned out to be a pitcher’s duel between Josh Rickards and Daniel Meier. The latter and Paderborn had the better end with a 2-0 shutout.

With that, only the Buchbinder Legionaere Regensburg have defended their clean slate. They improved to 10-0 with two wins over the Saarlouis Hornets on Friday and Saturday. On Sunday half of the games in the southern division were rained out, including the duel between the second and third ranked clubs Heidenheim Heidekoepfe and Haar Disciples. Nearly completely canceled was the matchup between Gauting and Mainz, but they got at least one game in with the Indians celebrating victory number one for the season with a 6-0 over the Athletics. The Mannheim Tornados extended their winning streak to five games with two victories against the Neuenburg Atomics and moved into fourth place in the standings.
