Dominik Wulf hit a grand slam for Solingen in game one in Dortmund

Three teams remain undefeated in the German Baseball-Bundesliga. On Saturday the Alligators won twice in Dortmund, including a 1-0 nail-biter in game two to maintain its perfect 6-0 record in the northern division. The Untouchables on the other hand, lost for the first time, as Stefan Kruse and Jens Hawlitzky combined to throw a shutout for the Stealers in game two of their doubleheader. HSV’s regular starter Joakim Claesson couldn’t get to Hamburg from Stockholm due to volcano Eyjafjallajökull.

One day later the Capitals and the Buchbinder Legionaere also stayed without a loss. Bonn won twice in Cologne. Regensburg celebrated two lopsided seven-inning victories in Gauting. The most exciting twin bill of the weekend could be seen in Mannheim. The Athletics used an eight-run rally in the eighth to erase a 2-8 deficit in game one against the Tornados. In the second game Dennis Kelly and Marvin Appiah combined to hit three homeruns and collect nine RBI in a 12-9 win of Mannheim.
