In the German Baseball-Bundesliga two newcomers in the league set the highlights this past weekend. On Saturday Gianny Fracchiolla pitched a seven-inning no-hitter for the Buchbinder Legionaere Regensburg in a 10-0 shutout against the Stuttgart Reds. The Venezuelan issued a whopping eight walks, while striking out six. Only 60 of his 124 pitches were strikes, although unhittable.
On Sunday Wilson Lee put up a show. At the plate he hit three home runs and drove in nine runs in two games against the Hannover Regents. In game two he struck out 15 in eight two-hit innings, throwing 78 of his 94 pitches for strikes. Meanwhile in the north, the Solingen Alligators walked by the Untouchables Paderborn to join Bonn and Regensburg as undefeated teams.
