Results Austrian Baseball League August 28&29

Posted on August 29, 2010 by philipp

The Schwaz Tigers have secured their spot in the semi-finals of the Austrian Baseball League with a split against the Attnang-Puchheim Athletics on Sunday. They already clinched fourth place with a 4-1 win in game one. The 5-17 loss in game two was irrelevant. At the bottom of the standings the Stock City Cubs swept the Schwechat Blue Bats to send their opponents into seventh place and into a relegation series against a second-division team later this year. The Cubs now can even clinch fifth place with a win over the Vienna Metrostars in a make-up game. At the top the twin bill between the Vienna Wanderers and the Union Kufstein Vikings was rained out. The Vikes still have a shot at the second seed. The Wanderers will be in first no matter what.
