Reigning Cy Young Award Winner Rick Porcello won’t pitch in 2017 WBC

Posted on November 18, 2016November 18, 2016 by philipp

While several players already have committed for Team USA in the upcoming World Baseball Classic, one of the best players of this year’s campaign won’t. Rick Porcello of the Boston Red Sox, who won the Cy Young Award for the best pitcher in the American League this week, told a radio station in Boston that he won’t play for the United States. He wants to do what is best for the Red Sox and don’t pitch in meaningful games in March.
