Registration for the 2014 DBV Convention in Paderborn, Germany is open. The International Sports Group (ISG) in cooperation with the German Baseball and Softball Federation (DBV) is holding the baseball and softball clinic from January 24 to 26, 2014 at the Ahorn Sportpark in Paderborn. For the fourth straight year the DBV Convention returns to the unique facility, which offers theoretical and hands-on seminars. Additionally to the coaching courses umpires and scorers also will be on hand for training.
Umpires will be in for a special treat at the upcoming DBV Convention. Larry Young, a 23-year MLB Umpire, who is currently MLB Supervisor of Umpires, a member of the IBAF Umpire Commission and was responsible for the selection of World Baseball Classic Umpires, will come to Paderborn to give attending Umpires a top-notch opportunity to learn from the best.
The baseball clinic also features a top lineup. Former MLB International Envoy Coach Coordinator Pat Doyle, San Diego Padres Scouting Supervisor Billy Gasparino and Chicago Cubs Advanced Scout Adam Melhuse are coming from the United States. From Germany DBA head coach Georg Bull, NRW State Coach Alper Bozkurt, Buchbinder Legionaere Regensburg’s Martin Brunner, New York Mets Triple-A Catcher Kai Gronauer and Bonn Capitals head coach Mirko Heid also will be speakers.
More speakers, especially also for the Softball Clinic, will be announced in the coming weeks. Registration for the Baseball Clinic is €125 including lunch and dinner at the Ahorn Sportpak, Softball Clinic €100. Registration is open through the official website convention.baseball-softball.de.
The Welcome Hotel Paderborn will serve as official partner of the DBV Convention 2014 and offers a special price of €73 (single room) respective €108 (double room) per night including breakfast. The special hotel offer, which is available via the keyword “BASEBALL-VERBAND”, is available until November 29, 2013.
