The Buchbinder Legionaere Regensburg have added some depth to the pitching staff shortly prior to the start of the German Baseball-Bundesliga. They signed left-handed pitcher Gianny Fracciolla.
The 23-year-old reportedly owns a 90 mph fastball. He is from Venezuela, but has an Italian passport since his time with Collecchio in Italian Baseball in 2011. Afterwards he had signed with the Texas Rangers where he posted an ERA of 3.88 in 62 2/3 innings between 2012 and 2014.
He replaces basically Justin Kuehn on the roster, who had left Regensburg this winter. Fracciolla joins Mike Bolsenbroek, Jonathan Eisenhuth, Wolfgang Reitter and Lucas Dickman as main pitchers on the staff of Ivan Rodriguez.
