L&D Amsterdam completed its sweep of ADO with a 19-1 rout on Monday afternoon. Percy Isenia went deep. Four players crossed the plate three times. Bas de Jong did the most damage for the Pirates, going 4-for-5 with two doubles, three runs and four RBI. Ben Grover (AMS) pitched four scoreless one-hit innings. Jurrian Koks (W) inherited the win. Raynard Doran (L) issued eleven hits, eight runs (7 ER) and a walk in 3 2/3 frames.

DOOR Neptunus scored four runs in the bottom of the eighth to turn a 1-2 deficit into a 5-2 win over Corendon Kinheim on Monday, avoiding a sweep and handing the club from Haarlem its first loss of the 2011 season. A RBI double by Jeffrey Arends tied the contest. A RBI single by Eldrion Regina plated the go-ahead run. An error during a fielder’s choice play led to two more runs. Kinheim was in front since a RBI single by Dirk van’t Klooster (4-4) in the sixth. Nick Veltkamp (KIN) gave up two hits, a run and three walks in six-plus innings. Tim Roodenburg (NEP) conceded three hits, a run and two bb in two innings. Arshwin Asjes (W) got the win, Nick Stuifbergen (L) the loss.

UVV won its third game in three days against Sparta/Feyenoord Rotterdam on Monday, prevailing 10-5. Just moments after the guests tied the contest in the top of the seventh UVV broke the 5-5 tie with two runs. Three more runs in the eighth sealed the win. Jeff Delfina initiated the offense from the leadoff spot, going 4-for-5 with four runs and two RBI. Danny Rombley doubled twice and drove in two. Rudney Balentien reached base four times and scored twice for Sparta/Feyenoord. Martijn Riphagen (UVV) allowed five hits, two runs and three bb in 5 1/3 solid innings. Rudy Seebus (SPA) was charged with five hits, five runs (4 ER) and four walks in 3 2/3 innings. Sedley Karel (W) received the win, Maikel Berghmans (L) the loss.

For the first time the IBAF Tiebreaker Rule was used in a Dutch Hoofdklasse game and the Vaessen Pioniers were the lucky winner. They scored four runs in the top of the tenth, highlighted by a two-run double of Norbert Lokhorst (2-2, 4 BB), defeating Mr. Cocker HCAW 12-9. HCAW had tied the contest on a RBI groundout by Juan Gonzalez and a RBI single by Lennart Koster in the ninth. Dirimo Chavez went 3-for-3 with two walks, a homerun, four runs and two RBI. Nik Gumeson went deep and scored three times for the Pioniers. Lars Huijer (PIO) surrendered seven hits, five runs and three bb in 4 1/3 innings. Dennis Burgersdijk (HCA) was charged with five hits, six runs and three walks in 1 1/3 innings. Dave Draijer (W) picked up the win, Maarten Mulder (L) the loss.
