VIGO used a five-run seventh to beat the ASTROS 7-1 in game one of their doubleheader last weekend in the Spanish Division de Honor. Carlos Millan scored three times and drove in two. Juan Jose Lopez and Michel San Gil also got two RBIs each. Ronny Malave (W 4-3) allowed just one unearned run on four hits in nine innings, striking out ten. Edward Adames (L 0-1) conceded eight hits, seven runs (6 ER) and seven bb in 6 2/3 innings.

In the second match VALENCIA already smelled its first victory in two years Division de Honor, leading 7-5 in the top of the eighth. But HALCONES put six runs on the board in the bottom of the frame to win 11-7. Juan Jose Lopez pitched 5 2/3 rocky innings for VIGO and drove in two. Jose Gabriel Mendez (W 2-1) picked up the win in relief. Alberto Orti (L 0-1) issued nine runs (5 ER) on nine hits and a bb in seven-plus innings for the loss.
CB Sant Boi – Baseball Navarra 4-2, 2-6

SANT BOI used a two-run single by Marc Carrillo in the bottom of the fifth to beat NAVARRA 4-2 in game one of their two-game series. He already had tied the contest one frame earlier, when he scored on a wild pitch. Alberto Espanol and Larry Infante had put the guest up 2-1 by scoring on a single of Hector Perozo in combination with an error in the third. Oscar Alvarez (W 7-3) went the distance for his seventh win of the season. Juan Jose Lopez (L 2-5) gave up four runs on six hits and five bb in seven innings.

In the second match, NAVARRA stunned CB by scoring four runs in the last two frames to win 6-2. Alberto Espanol reached four times and scored twice. Diego Armando Perez (W 1-3) surrendered two runs (1 ER) on six hits and four bb in seven innings. Jose Estebin Cruz (L 7-1) suffered the first loss of the season, going 8 1/3 innings, while allowing six hits, six runs (2 ER) and five walks. He struck out nine.

VILADECANS scored three runs in the first en route to a surprising 4-2 victory over Homer Baez (L 7-2) and the FC BARCELONA. The second-ranked club was able to cut the deficit to a run, but CB added an insurance run in the bottom of the seventh to seal the win. Delio Miguel Martinez (W 6-1) allowed nine hits, two runs and three bb in 8 2/3 innings. Baez issued nine hits, four runs and four walks in 7 2/3 innings. He struck out seven.

BARCELONA got some payback in game two of the twin bill, scoring eight runs in the first three frames en route to a 12-5 win. Emmanuel Febles injected the offense with four hits and three RBI. Pau Sancho scored three times. Pedro Belmonte (W 8-0) gave up three runs on seven hits in seven innings. Marc Jodar (L 2-3) lasted just 1 2/3 innings, giving up an unbelievable six unearned runs on six walks and no hits.

The MARLINS needed to score five runs in the top of the eighth to stay undefeated in game one of their doubleheader at BILBAO. SAN INAZIO led 4-2 since a four-run opening frame. Richard Montiel hit a homerun and drove in three. Daniel Sanchez scored twice and picked up two RBI. Dirimo Chavez, Kelvin Marianucci and Rene Reyes each had three hits for the host. Leslie Nacar (W 9-0) had to work hard for his ninth win of the season, allowing eleven hits, five runs (4 ER) and three bb in 8 1/3 innings. He struck out eight. Fidel Mane (INA) started for BILBAO and conceded eight hits, three runs (2 ER) and a walk in seven innings. He struck out seven. Willy Javier Guedez (L 0-3) couldn’t defend the lead and took the loss.

PUERTO CRUZ completed the sweep with an easy 7-1 victory, improving their record to 20-0. Luis Perez went four-for-five with three RBI. Daniel Sanchez and Daniel Martinez combined for four runs scored at the top of the batting order. Ivan Granados (W 8-0) held BILBAO at one unearned run on four hits and a walk in eight innings of work. Alberto Magallon (L 4-3) issued eight hits, five runs and a bb in five innings.
CD Pamplona – El Llano 8-6, 8-9
