Stade Toulousain – Pessac Panthers 13-0 (7), 5-10
Stade Toulousain and the Pessac Panthers split a doubleheader in the French Elite League on Sunday. In game one Toulouse scored seven runs in the second and five in the sixth en route to a 13-0 win in seven innings. J. Murrey (W 1-1) struck out nine in five scoreless one-hit, three-walk innings. J. Mendoza and A. Paz combined for six RBI. S. Morgavi crossed the plate three times. H. Vicens (L 0-1) issued five hits, eight runs and three bb in two-plus innings.
In the second game Pessac took a quick 6-0 lead midway through the second in a 10-5 victory avoiding the sweep. J. Mullaly drove in three. M. Charlot, Defontaine and S. Boyer scored twice. A. Paz went 3-for-4 with three runs for the Tigers. M. Tyler (W 2-2) issued twelve hits, five runs (4 ER) and three bb in nine innings. T. Dourlens (L 1-4) gave up three hits, three runs and two bb in one inning.
Paris UC – Savigny Lions 2-11, 7-15
The Savigny Lions swept their twin bill against Paris UC on Sunday in Pershing. In game one V. Ferreira drove in three and T. Salado scored three times in an 11-2 win. P. Lemestre (W 2-2) gave up one hit, an unearned run and four walks in six innings. W. Musson (L 2-4) allowed six hits, eight runs (5 ER) and three bb in five innings, striking out eight.
The Lions offense also dominated in game two, a 15-7 victory. Five players scored twice for Savigny. V. Ferreira once again drove in three. O. Saavedra went 4-for-5 with four RBI for PUC. C. Cooper (W) allowed ten hits, four runs (3 ER) and a walk in eight innings. M. Monbeig (L) issued eight hits, five runs (2 ER) and two bb in five innings.
Templiers Senart – Rouen Huskies 7-6 (10), 6-5 (10)
The Templiers Senart downed the Rouen Huskies twice via the IBAF Tiebreaker Rule. In game one the game was tied 4-4, when it went to extra innings, where Senart answered two Rouen runs with three runs of their own to celebrate a 7-6 win. K. Atkinson had the big hit with a bases clearing walk-off three-run double. Senart had erased a 0-4 deficit with a four-run seventh. B. Lorienne cleared the bases with a triple and scored the tying run on a sac fly by M. Brelle-Andrade. D. Gauthier with a three-run homerun and K. Hagiwara with a RBI triple had put the Huskies in front.
In the second match a RBI fielder’s choice by F. Hanvi and an error by the second baseman lifted the Templiers to a 6-5 win, again in ten innings. L. Piquet had given the Huskies a 5-4 lead with a RBI single in the top of the frame. And similar to game one Senart had erased a 1-4 deficit in the process. A RBI single by K. Atkinson had tied the contest in the seventh. He also hit a homerun and picked up the win in relief.
Montigny Cougars – Montpellier Barracudas 2-4, 3-16 (8)
The Montpellier Barracudas improved to 9-5 with a pair of wins over the winless Montigny Cougars. In game one A. Cros homered twice to drive in three, leading Montpellier to a 4-2 victory. The Barracudas led 4-1 after four innings. G. Cros (W 1-0) struck out seven in six innings, allowing four hits, two runs and a walk in six innings. Higashiyama (L 0-5) issued seven hits, four runs and two bb in six innings.
The second game was a 16-3 rout in eight innings. A. Zuaznabar and A. Cros combined for five hits, two homeruns, five runs and five RBI. M. Lapinsky scored three times. T. Meley (MUC) pitched four scoreless two-hit innings. R. Ware (W 3-0) picked up the win. W. Coopman (L 0-6) was charged with seven hits and seven runs (5 ER) in two innings.
