T&A San Marino overcame a 0-4 deficit and scored four runs in the top of the twelfth to down Unipol Bologna 8-5 on Thursday in the Italian Baseball League. RBI singles by Laidel Chapelli, Francesco Imperiali and Simone Albanese plus an error led to the four runs in the third extra inning. Imperiali already had tied the game with a RBI single in the eighth. Tony Granato homered for the Titans. Edgar Clemente drove in two for Bologna. Jesus Matos (BOL) allowed eight hits, three runs and three bb in six innings. Henry Bonilla (SMA) gave up six hits and four runs in 4 2/3 innings. Darwin Cubillan (SMA) relieved him in the fifth and completely shut down the Fortitudo offense with ten strikeouts in 5 1/3 scoreless innings. Peter Avvento (W) got the win, Yulman Ribeiro (L) the loss.

Cariparma Parma – North East Knights 1-3

The North East Knights picked up their first win of the season, defeating defending champion Cariparma Parma 3-1 on Thursday night. Two runs in the top of the seventh broke the scoreless tie. Parma got on the board in the bottom of the frame, but Godo-Verona added a third run in the ninth to seal the victory. Joey Schwartz drove in two. Terrence McClain went 3-for-4 for the Knights. Rodney Medina reached base in all four of his plate appearances. Rodney Rodriguez (W) allowed five hits and three walks in six scoreless innings. Jesus Silva (L) struck out nine in seven frames, but also was responsible for seven hits, two runs and two bb.

Jean Granado (W) out-dueled Kris Wilson (L) to lead Montepaschi Grosseto to a 1-0 victory over Danesi Nettuno on Thursday. Granado gave up just two hits and five walks, while Wilson issued nine hits, a run and a bb in seven innings. Each starter struck out four. Leonardo Mazzanti drove in the lone run with a RBI single in the top of the sixth. Luca Bischeri went 3-for-3 with a walk. Nettuno managed just two hits in the game.

Telemarket Rimini defeated Novara United 13-7 in a slugfest on Thursday. Four runs in the second and five in the fourth decided the game early. Five errors by the Pirates defense helped Novara to stay somewhat in the game. Brian Nelson had two homeruns, including a grand slam, and six RBI. Jack Santora scored three times. Josh Phelps collected three more walks. Mattia Campanini went 4-for-6. Franklin Tavarez had three hits for United. Dushan Ruzic (W) gave up four hits, five runs (2 ER) and three bb in 5 1/3 innings. Renny Duarte (L) got the start for Novara after his strong relief performance last week. He hadn’t his best day on Thursday, as he was charged with eleven hits, ten runs and four bb in just 3 2/3 innings.
