Danesi Nettuno scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth to break a 1-1 tie and en route to a 6-4 win over Montepaschi Grosseto on Thursday in the Italian Baseball League. The Orioles tried to answer right away, but only were able to cut the deficit to a run in the seventh. Another run by Nettuno in the eighth sealed the win. Renato Imperiali drove in three. Kris Wilson (W) allowed six hits and four runs (3 ER) in 6 1/3 innings for the win. Juan Figueroa (L) surrendered seven hits, five runs and three bb in six innings.

Jim Brower (W) allowed just three hits in seven scoreless innings to lead Telemarket Rimini to a 10-0 shutout over the De Angelis Godo Knights on Thursday. He struck out seven. Alex Serrano closed out the three-hitter with a perfect eighth. Mario Chiarini hit a homerun for the Pirates. Laidel Chapelli went 4-for-5 with three RBI. Jack Santora scored three times. Robert Palencia (L) gave up seven hits, eight runs and three bb in four-plus innings.

T&A San Marino scored in each of the first five frames on their way to an 8-1 win over UGF Bologna. Carlos Duran headed the offense with three hits and four RBI. Tony Granato scored twice. Henry Bonilla (W) picked up the win after six innings, allowing just two hits, a run and a walk. Jesus Matos (L) took the loss after four innings, eight hits, five runs (4 ER) and four bb.
