CB Sant Boi – CD Pamplona 13-3 (8), 12-1 (7)
Game 1:

Considered as one of the favorites going into the 2010 season, Sant Boi opened with two easy wins against Pamplona. Former Mets prospect Junior Guerra (W 1-0) led the way in game one on Saturday by dominating with 14 strikeouts in his first official outing for CB. He gave up three runs on three hits and six walk in seven innings.
The offense got things going in the third, when Marc Carrillo doubled home two runs and Jose Luis Riera followed with a three-run homerun. They scored ten more runs in the 13-3 pounding. Carrillo and Daniel Sanchez combined to cross the plate six times. Marcos Castillo (L 0-1) issued ten runs (9 ER) on ten hits and three base on balls in seven innings to take the loss.
Game 2:

On Sunday Jose Estebin Cruz (W 1-0) laid the groundwork with a strong performance on the mound. He nearly matched Guerra with 13 punch-outs in six innings, allowing just an unearned first-inning run in five hits and two walks. The offense supported Cruz early and blew things wide open with a six-run fifth. Nine different players scored for Sant Boi in the 12-1 win. Eneko Del Burgo (L 0-1) gave up eight hits, six runs and five bb in 3 1/3 innings.
Astros Valencia – El Llano 10-0 (8), 13-0 (7)
Game 1:

The Astros Valencia and El Llano had two completely different off seasons. While the one team heavily improved its roster throughout the winter, the other contemplated withdrawing from the Division de Honor. The results were on display during a lopsided doubleheader.
The Astros only had won once in the past two seasons. But on Sunday they doubled their win total in just a few hours. John Scott Dunn (W 1-0) led Valencia to a 10-0 shutout in game one of the twin bill, allowing just four hits and three walks in eight innings. He struck out 13.
His offense supported him early and often. Wilmer Javier Oviedo homered, scored twice and drove in four. Eric Frank Cowes also crossed the plate two times and added two RBI. Nuevo De La Cruz (L 0-1) issued ten hits, seven runs (6 ER) and a walk in seven innings.
Game 2:

Valencia’s third baseman Wilmer Javier Oviedo crowned his day in the second part of the doubleheader. He drove in five more runs in a 13-0 victory to complete sweep. Miguel Angel Pariente followed suite with a three-RBI game. Eric Frank Cowes scored three times.
With that much offense Jordi Valles (W 1-0) had an easy day. He held El Llano scoreless in five two-hit innings, striking out four. Ivan Martin (L 0-1) lasted just 2 2/3 innings, being charged with five hits, six runs (5 ER) and two bb.
Tenerife Marlins Puerto Cruz – San Inazio Bilbao 10-3, 3-2 (6)
Game 1:

The defending champion Tenerife Marlins got off to a good start into the 2010 season. They beat San Inazio twice on Saturday. In game one Luis Landaeta homered in a four-run opening period en route to a 10-3 victory. Richard Montiel (3-5, 3 runs, 4 RBI) later added a grand slam in the eighth to seal the win. Nestor Perez went three-for-five with two doubles, two runs scored and two RBI.
On the mound Leslie Nacar (W 1-0) cruised through seven scoreless innings, allowing just three hits and two walks, while walking eight. Bilbao only came through against closer Jorge Balboa in the last two frames. Fidel Torres Mane (L 0-1) gave up twelve hits, six runs (5 ER) and a walk in 6 1/3 innings.
Game 2:

In the second game of the day, Bilbao nearly pulled off a surprise. After the Marlins had taken a 2-0 lead on a Richard Montiel solo homerun in the second and a RBI single by Javier Jose Flores in the fourth, Tony Granadillo evened the score in the fifth with a two-run shot. But Nguyen Boulet answered for Puerto Cruz with a RBI single in the bottom of the same inning.
It was enough since the game got called midway through the sixth due to lack of light. Ivan Granados (W 1-0) gave up two hits, two runs and five bb in six innings, striking out seven. Alberto Magallon (L 0-1) conceded eight hits, three runs and two walks in five innings.
Baseball Navarra – CB Viladecans 10-5, 2-6
Game 1:

In game one of the doubleheader between Baseball Navarra and CB Viladecans, the home team overcame an early 0-4 deficit to win 10-5. Victor Martinez, who hit a two-run homerun, and Luis Villanueva led the offense of Navarra with a combined seven RBI. Juan Jose Lopez scored three times. CB’s catcher Eric Segura went three-for-four with a homerun, a double, two runs and two RBI.
But their offense went cold after the third, having no answers for the mid-game rally by Navarra. Lopez (W 1-0) settled down after a rocky beginning, going six solid innings for the win. He issued five hits, four runs (2 ER) and three bb, striking out nine. Fabian Marquez (L 0-1) gave up six hits, six runs (1 ER) and four walks in six innings too.
Game 2:

Both teams settled for the split on Sunday, as Viladecans didn’t look back after an early two-run homerun by Eric Segura in the opening period en route to a 6-2 win. Marc Jodar (W 1-0) and Miquel Luengo (S 1) held Navarra’s offense to a combined four hits in the game. Andres Casado (L 0-1) got punished for his lone mistake in the game, taking the loss after five solid innings. He gave up two runs on five hits and a walk.
The two-game set between Halcones de Vigo and the FC Barcelona got postponed due to rain.
