Posted on June 29, 2010 by philipp

Templiers Senart – Rouen Huskies 1-2, 5-3

The Rouen Huskies had to settle for a split against the Templiers Senart, but still defended first place in the French Elite League. In game one Rouen needed to score two in the top of the eighth to win 2-1 in Senart. Luc Piquet tied the game with a RBI double and scored the winning run moments later when David Gauthier’s groundball was misplayed by the shortstop. Keino Perez allowed just three hits, a run and three walks in nine strong innings. Samuel Meurant issued two runs (1 ER) on five hits and five bb in eight innings. In the second game the Templiers opened the contest with two-run hits by Jamel Boutagra and Jean-Clement Baylot for an early 4-0 lead en route to a 5-3 win. A. Herrera won the duel on the mound against Giovanni Ouin.

Montpellier Barracudas – Savigny Lions 16-6, 4-8

The Montpellier Barracudas and the Savigny Lions missed out the opportunity to cut the deficit towards Rouen, as they also had to settle for the split. In game one Montpellier overcame a 5-6-deficit to beat the Lions 16-6 in eight innings. Thomas Langloys picked up the win with eight innings on the mound. Kyle Nash and Tomas Salado pitched for Savigny. In part two of the twin bill Pierrick Lemestre took over and led the guests to an 8-4 win.
