Savigny Lions – Templiers Senart 8-1, 3-2

The Lions picked up their wins two and three of the season in the French Elite League with a sweep over Senart. Pierrick Lemestre didn’t allow a run through eight innings in game one to lead Savigny to an 8-1 victory over the Templiers with Samuel Meurant on the mound. In the second match the Lions took a fast 3-1 lead after four innings. Senart tried to come back, but only managed a second run to lose 2-3 in the end. Eloi Secleppe (3 IP), Chris Morel (1 IP) and Kyle Nash (5 IP) pitched for Savigny, while Mathieu Brelle-Andrade (8 IP) took the mound for the guests.

Montigny Cougars – Paris UC 11-1 (7), 15-17

The Cougars hosted Paris UC for a doubleheader in Montigny. In game one the home team scored seven runs in the fifth en route to a ten-run rule shortened seven-inning 11-1 victory. Justin Fry struck out ten to receive the win. Pitching was absent in game two of the twin-bill as PUC won a slugfest by a score of 17-15. The club from the French capital already led 11-3 after three innings, but Montigny threatened to come back, cutting the deficit to 12-14 in the fifth and 15-16 in the eighth. Another PUC run in the ninth sealed the win.

The two-game set between the Rouen Huskies and Stade Toulousain had to be postponed, as the team from Toulouse couldn’t travel due the volcano ashes from Iceland. The Montpellier Barracudas had a bye in week two.
