
Baseball Navarra – Astros Valencia 7-1, 4-3
NAVARRA celebrated a two-game sweep over VALENCIA this past weekend in the Spanish Division de Honor. In game one Alberto Espanol and Juan Jose Lopez combined for four RBI in a 7-1 win. Lopez (W 5-7) also picked up the win, allowing three hits, a run and two walks in a complete game. He struck out seven. Norman Nelson Cowes (L 0-6) conceded eleven hits, seven runs and three bb in the loss.
In the second match, NAVARRA needed sac flies by Hector Perozo and Lopez in the bottom of the third to take the lead for good. Both teams didn’t score afterwards and the home club won 4-3. Gary Spencer Lucian collected three hits and two runs for the ASTROS. Diego Armando Perez (W 4-4) allowed two hits in five innings of relief for the win. Jorge Gomez (L 0-4) went eight innings to take the loss.
Halcones de Vigo – FC Barcelona 5-8, 2-9
The surprise team of the first half of the season is losing ground in the standings. HALCONES dropped both games against the FC BARCELONA and now has lost the last six games in a row. In game one BARCA scored five runs in the last two frames in an 8-5 victory. Emmanuel Febles highlighted the rally with a two-run triple. He also scored twice. Homer Baez (W 13-3) struck out ten in 8 1/3 rocky innings, allowing eleven hits, five runs and four walks. Reliever Juan Jose Lopez (L 4-5) took the loss.
In the second match BARCELONA used a five-run sixth on their way to a 9-2 win. Jesus Golindano led the attack, going four-for-five with two runs scored and four RBI. Jason Friedman and Pau Sancho combined for another four RBIs. Pedro Belmonte (W 14-1) struck out eight in eight solid innings for the win. Jose Antonio Romero (L 1-4) conceded nine runs on 13 hits and five walks in nine innings.
CB Sant Boi – Tenerife Marlins 3-5, 1-3
Leslie Nacar (W 15-1) won the duel in game one against Oscar Alvarez (L 11-5) and led the MARLINS to a 5-3 win. Nacar gave up seven hits, three runs (2 ER) and a walk in nine innings, while Alvarez conceded five runs (3 ER) on ten hits and no bb in the same time. Ricardo Rodriguez and Victor Lopez drove in two each. William Domero collected two RBIs für SANT BOI.
In the second part of the twin bill TENERIFE scored all three runs of the game in frame number three on RBI singles by Daniel Martinez and Richard Montiel and an error. SANT BOI only managed one run on a double play ball by Milko Jaramillo in the seventh. Ivan Granados (W 13-1) gave up three hits and four walks in six scoreless innings. Jose Estebin Cruz (L 9-6) conceded seven hits, three unearned runs and four bb in nine innings.
CB Viladecans – El Llano 2-3, 10-5
VILADECANS and EL LLANO settled for a split. In game one the team from Gijon built up a fast 3-0 lead thru four innings, before CB tried to come back with single runs in the fifth and seventh. But it was not enough to turn the score into their favor. Elbis Alberto Avila (W 4-2) picked up the win after 6 2/3 solid innings. He allowed seven hits, two runs and four bb. Delio Miguel Martinez (L 8-9) surrendered nine hits, three runs (2 ER) and two walks in 8 2/3 innings. He struck out ten.
In the second match the Spanish record champion got payback scoring in each of the last four frames in an eight-inning shortened 10-5 win. Rafael Manuel Llames went two-for-three with a walk, three runs scored and three RBI. Osmel Cardoso doubled twice and drove in three for EL LLANO. Marc Jodar (W 4-3) allowed five runs on seven hits in six innings for the win. Ruben Fente (L 6-5) pictehd 2 1/3 innings of relief and took the loss.
San Inazio Bilbao – CD Pamplona 2-1 (10), 4-3
Two one-run victories for SAN INAZIO against PAMPLONA. In game one Asier Izaguirre scored the decisive second run on a wild pitch in the tenth inning to lead BILBAO to a 2-1 win. Fidel Mane (W 8-5) picked up the win after three innings of relief. Willy Javier Guedez hadn’t allow a run in the first seven. Alexis Fumero (L 3-9) went the distance for CD, striking out twelve, but also walked ten. He gave up two runs on five hits.
Jose Eduardo Acosta drove in the winning run in the eighth of game two, as SAN INAZIO prevailed 4-3. Alberto Magallon (W 7-6) allowed six hits, three runs (2 ER) and four walks in eight innings. Ekaitz Ezpeleta (L 0-4) gave up ten hits, four runs (3 ER) and five bb in eight innings too.
