Arvernes Clermont-Ferrand – Rouen Huskies 0-10 (8), 0-2 (11)
The HUSKIES celebrated two shutouts in CLERMONT-FERRAND last weekend. In game one, Alexandre Sochon allowed just two hits and a walk in seven scoreless innings to lead ROUEN to a 10-0 win. David Gauthier drove in four, as they scored five runs in the eighth to end the match through mercy rule. Dany Scalabrini and Boris Marche each scored three times. Aurelien Dalibard took the loss after 3 1/3 innings.
In the second part of the doubleheader, ROUEN needed until the eleventh inning to decide the outcome. David Gauthier put them up 1-0 with a RBI double and scored the second run on a single by Flavien Peron in a 2-0 win. Nicolas Dubaut and Keino Perez each allowed four hits in six, respective five scoreless innings to silence the bats of the ARVERNES. Ben Pfinsgraff matched them with eight four-hit innings, but reliever Jean Christophe Joly (L 0-2) faltered in his third inning.
La Guerche Hawks – Montpellier Barracudas 4-9, 0-12
In game one the BARRACUDAS scored three runs in the first en route to a 9-4 win. Edouard Massé (5 IP) and Thomas Langloys (4 IP) stopped the HAWKS offense from the mound and won the duel against Anthony Piquet. In the second game Thomas Meley nearly pitched a no-hitter, allowing just an infield single in the ninth in a 12-0 shutout. Kyle Gruver pitched for LA GUERCHE.
Savigny Lions – Montigny Cougars 9-8, 11-6
In game one SAVIGNY built a fast 9-1 lead after five innings, which they nearly blew in the end, as MONTIGNY rallied for seven runs in the last three frames. Romain Martinez Scott drove in three. Rémi Lejeune picked up the win. Chris Patterson earned the loss.
In the second game the COUGARS score five runs in the third and lead 6-3 after four innings. But the LIONS came back, scoring runs in each frame between the fifth and eighth to win 11-6. Pierrick Lemestre received the win. Sebastien Duchossoy took the loss.
Templiers Senart – Stade Toulousain 11-5, 9-6
SENART defeated STADE 11-5 in game one behind four runs scored by Alex Malihoudis and four hits by Ernesto Martinez. Steven Vesque pitched six-plus inning for the win. Joris Navarro gave up nine runs (6 ER) on seven hits and five bb for the loss. In the second match the TEMPLIERS won 9-6.
